Professor Arnold was known for his love of people, quick wit, and charm. He was a supremely kind man who was passionate about advancing opportunities for others, especially his students. His life exemplified hard work, service, and integrity. Bill was a bright presence and found joy teaching the Geopolitics of Energy, Energy Transitions, Entrepreneurship in International Energy, and especially the international energy simulation.
In his honor, we have created The William M. Arnold Fund for the Geopolitics of Energy, a fund to support an annual speaker series on energy and geopolitics, and course execution and development. While this fund will touch future generations of students and business leaders, it is the 1,600 students he taught and his colleagues throughout his career who will remember him most fondly. We are grateful to have had his vibrant spirit for part of that time, and we miss him greatly.
