In Memory of Mr. Michael Cherubino

Mike Cherubino, Will Rice College's beloved 1987 President, was known to many for his outsized love and booming, contagious laughter. He was known simply as "Bino" to everyone who knew him or knew of him, because like Sting or Prince or Bono, a one-word moniker is all it took to instantly be an admiring fan.

His fellow alumni, friends, and family are establishing a memorial fund in his honor to ensure both love and laughter are always echoing and amplified across Rice's campus and in the Will Rice College commons. With the support and strength of Edie and their children, we want to ensure his jovial, kind spirit and laughter endure at Rice for ever more.

A gift to the Mike Cherubino Memorial Fund will provide funding to increase student joy through events and programming in Will Rice College. Mike’s friend, Andy Karsner ’89, will match all donations made through the date of Mike’s memorial service on January 28, 2022 up to $10,000, asking those who shared his joy to contribute, in his memory, to inviting generations of students to know his outsized legacy.
