In order to honor former dean and pioneer in digital signal processing professor emeritus Charles Sidney Burrus who earned three degrees in electrical engineering at Rice, a generous donor has established the C. S. Burrus ECE Student Enrichment fund. As a professor, magister, and dean, Sidney continually drew on his experience as a Rice undergraduate and graduate student to enrich the student experience inside and outside the classroom. This new fund will enable Rice ECE to amplify its many efforts, and we are inviting your support.
Donations will enhance the Rice ECE student experience by providing support for summer research internships, funding student groups, and helping to send students to relevant conferences, as well as meeting other student needs as they arise.
Every gift, no matter small or large, makes an impact.
Whether you choose to give back through an annual gift, establishing an endowment or supporting another funding priority, every dollar counts. In fact, most gifts to Rice Engineering are less than $1,000 but together they add up to millions for student awards, academics, research and programs so we can educate leaders and tackle grand challenges. If you are interested in discussing how you can make a non-cash gift such as appreciated stock, Donor Advised Fund (DAF), IRA Charitable Rollover, or through a deferred gift vehicle such as a bequest, please contact engdev@rice.edu and we would love to help facilitate that donation.
Your official tax receipt will automatically be sent to the email address you provide. Your investment provides a distinctive academic experience that encourages top research from our faculty and prepares our graduates to lead and succeed throughout their careers.
