Thank you for your interest in making a gift to the Rice Alternative Spring Break program. A gift of any amount can greatly impact our mission to empower Rice students to ethically engage with communities through education, service, and advocacy.
Selecting the ASB Gift Fund will support the ASB groups who are currently meeting weekly to learn about their social justice topic in preparation for their immersive weeklong spring break trip. Groups travel to various locations around the country to learn from community organizations, local governments, and other advocates as they develop their own civic leadership skills.
Students fundraise to make their trips possible. Donations of any amount go toward the various logistical costs of travel, lodging, and food for our student groups. The collective fundraising goal for the project is $28,000. Below are some examples of how your contribution can help:
- $25 buys a tank of gas for one of our driving trip’s cars
- $60 buys a dinner for one of our groups of 12 students
- $250 sponsors one student on a driving trip
- $1,000 provides full transportation coverage for one driving trip
- $2,750 sponsors fundraising total for one trip
If you would like to support a specific trip with your gift, please select ‘other’ from the drop-down and include the name of the trip in the description. Below are the names of the ASB Programs. For more information about specific programs, click here.
