The Rice University School Mathematics Project (RUSMP), a center in the Wiess School of Natural Sciences, connects the Rice University mathematics research community to the precollege educational community. RUSMP has been supporting schools and districts in the Houston area and beyond to positively impact the teaching and learning of mathematics since 1987. RUSMP elevates mathematics programs and spreads the joy of learning mathematics. Our research improves mathematics instruction, student learning, student achievement, and the professional development of PreK-12 mathematics teachers, teacher leaders, and administrators.
Over 14,000 teachers and over 20,000 students have benefited from our programs over the years. Read more about RUSMP's impact here.
Please consider making a gift to RUSMP, as we rely solely on grants, fees-for-service, and donations.
Your gift will help provide:
- Teachers with scholarships to participate in our highly acclaimed programs to increase their mathematical and pedagogical knowledge;
- Students, especially those from underserved populations, with scholarships to attend our popular camps and programs; and
- Funding for RUSMP research, which is showcased at international and national conferences for educators and researchers.
