Presentation attendees will hear Phuong Tran, THP Deputy CEO's winning strategies as to how her entrepreneurial family overcame significant hurdles to grow and compete against international industry giants. An extraordinary modern-day David and Goliath story, Phuong will recount how THP – a Vietnamese Green Tea Company – said NO to Coca-Cola’s $2.5bn offer and flourished into a billion-dollar business.She will review the leadership qualities her family clung to throughout their journey as well as the strategies they developed and employed to grow from nothing to become Vietnam’s leading fast-moving consumer goods public company.
Phuong will also describe how Vietnam’s culture shaped her family’s business and company story to communicate their core values and mission and how those stories allowed THP to carve out a unique brand identity in the market. She will also impart success strategies for managing a company from generation to generation and ensuring its success, presenting the pitfalls and the advantages of operating a family-owned business. Phuong will also impart how her family evaluated the competitive landscape in weighing Coca-Cola’s $2.5 billion buyout offer and their rationale for ultimately turning it down to remain in control of THP's brand and company success.
