Thank you for coming to the fundraising page of Rice’s REAL oldest student run business!!! Since our creation in 1975, the Pub has served as a gathering place and home to decades of Rice students, but now, we need your help. We are counting on our dedicated community to help us through this pandemic.
Due to our forced March closure at the start of the pandemic, we have endured heavy losses in revenue and are now in debt. In order for Pub to not shut down indefinitely, we need to raise a minimum of $20,000 before December 31, 2020. This money will go towards paying off our existing debt to Rice and Valhalla, training staff (particularly on new COVID protocol), purchasing reopening inventory, getting proper sanitizing equipment to keep everyone safe, obtaining new appliances to replace our outdated ones, and preparing to open an outdoor, socially-distanced Pub!
Pub wants to show our appreciation for your donation! We have created a tiered system to thank our donors who give during this campaign:
- Tier 1 ($100 or more): Pub will personally thank you for your support with a special small token of our appreciation
- Tier 2 ($500 or more): You will live on in Pub History, immortalized on our “Pub Saviors” plaque
- Tier 3 ($1500 or more): SOLD OUT - Maximum of 8 Taps and 12 Stools available has been reached.
- Tier 4 (HIGHEST DONOR, group or individual): Name one of our famous Pub Booths something of your choice.
***For group donations (eligible for the booth naming), gather a group to make one donation together, maybe of your previous college-mates or Pub nugz!***
Pub has been through flooding and arson, but the community has always rallied together to keep this Rice tradition going. We believe Pub is a central and special part of the unique Rice experience. Please help us keep the oldest student run business around for generations of owls to come!
