The Office of the Dean of Undergraduates is focused on providing a holistic education for your student, bringing together all aspects of the undergraduate student experience — not only excellent academics, but also the leadership and career services, mental and physical wellness resources, and extracurricular and social activities that represent the broader “Rice experience.” A Rice education goes far beyond the classroom, and now, thanks to the Moody Foundation’s historic $100 million gift to Rice, every student will have substantially more access to a transformative student experience.

Rice University has promoted Naomi Halas to University Professor, the institution’s highest academic rank. She becomes only the 10th person and second woman to earn the title in Rice’s 111-year history.

The Betty and Jacob Friedman Holistic Garden has been replanted in a new location on the Rice University campus, just north of the Gibbs Recreation Center in between the basketball courts and O'Connor Field.

Rice University Sport Management students worked at Super Bowl LVII festivities in Glendale, Arizona. Thirty-six Rice students worked at the NFL Honors awards show Feb. 9 and seven worked at the CBS president's party Feb. 12.

 
 
The Moody Experience at Rice University
 

Thanks to the Moody Foundation, Rice students will have access to a broad range of experiences beyond the classroom, spanning summer research, internships, civic leadership programs, advanced STEM preparation, and so much more. Students are invited to celebrate the launch of the Moody Experience on April 7 in the Central Quad at Moody X-Fest.

 
 
US names two Rice students inaugural Quad Fellows
 

Two Rice University graduate students are among the inaugural recipients of the Quad Fellowship, a multinational scholarship program formed to build ties among the next generation of scientists and technologists and jointly administered by the governments of the United States, Australia, India and Japan.

 
 
Rice swimmers capture title at Open Water Championship
 

Individual titlist Ella Dyson led the Rice swimming team to its second triumph at the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Open Water Championship Dec. 18.

Join the Rice community on April 4, 2023, for a 24-Hour Challenge that supports Rice's mission to better our world! When 4,400 donors make a gift of any size on April 4, David Courtwright Ph.D. '79 and Shelby Miller will donate $300,000 toward need based scholarships.
